Mexico Under Siege

From 2007–2018 Mexico’s war with its drug cartels has taken the lives of more than 250,000 men, women and children and counting. Millions of survivors continue to flee to the U.S. In order to show the grizzly truth I solicited the help of local Mexican journalists in Tijuana, Ciudad Juarez, Culiacan and Reynoso. They helped me identify dangers hidden in plain sight so I could focus on soldiers, police, victims, survivors and forensic investigators. The statistics behind this national tragedy were always just around the corner.
